The first way i am going to talk about is parallel because this is probably the most common way that panels will be connected.
Connected solar panels.
There are 3 ways to connect solar panels.
Connect the solar panels either directly to a power inverter and then connect it to the home grid or connect the inverter to the battery and then to the home power grid.
A charge controller is basically an appliance that regulates or stabilizes the voltage produced by the solar panel the direction of current and prevents overcharging.
This power inverter converts the solar energy into energy that is consumable at home.
Connecting solar panels to charge controller.
In fact by wiring several solar panels in series we increase the voltage keeping the same current while wiring them in parallel we increase the current keeping the same voltage.
For this example i am showing you connecting panels that are for a 12 volt system.
Then they are connected to the charge controller or to the inverter of the solar system.
This means that the home will get electricity both from its solar panels and the electric grid.
This is necessary because the current produced by the sun my vary depending on the intensity of the sunshine.
It stops working when the sun goes down.
Connecting solar panels in parallel wiring solar panels in parallel implies connecting positive terminals of each panel together and wiring the negative terminals of each panel together as well.
Parallel series and a combination of parallel and series.
